30.05.2007 - Executive Committee meeting
On 30 May 2007, the Executive Committee meeting took place at the Hall of Mechanical Department Board, University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz. The debates were led by Jan Gołębiewski, the Vice President of the Executive Committee. Prof. Joachim Zimniak, present at the meeting, was introduced and thanked for making the hall accessible. Prof. Joachim Zimniak briefly presented the history and current situation of the university. He wished successful debates and after that he left the meeting.
The proposed agenda included:
1. Acceptance of the Agenda.
2. Discussion of minutes from previous Executive Committee meeting.
3. Approval of draft resolutions for the General Assembly.
4. Discussion of the position of the Association on harmonised standards and CE labelling in the light of the letter from Teppfa.
5. Presentation of the proposal of Association's participation in REACH implementation in the Association's member firms.
6. Discussion of organizing by the Association the General Assembly of Teppfa in Krakow in April 2008.
7. Discussion of organizing a conference on "Sewer and water networks made of polypropylene and polyethylene" jointly with the firm Borealis .
8. Appointment with a candidate for the position of Technical Consultant.
The proposed agenda was accepted unanimously. There were no remarks on the minutes from the previous Executive Committee meeting.
Draft resolutions were accepted for the General Assembly which is to take place on 30 May 2007.
Taking into account current legislation in Poland as well as Teppfa's standpoint expressed in the letter of 16 April 2007, after discussion, the Executive Committee resolved to recommend that Technical Committee 140 of the Polish Committee for Standardization vote against standards prEN 15012, prEN 15013, prEN 15014, and prEN 15015. Instead, the Executive Committee recommends preparation of harmonising annexes for product standards which are currently in force.
In view of the approaching deadline of introduction of the Reach system, the Executive Committee resolved to organize training on Reach. The training is to be conducted by the specialist in this field from outside the Association. It was decided to conduct, at the next meeting, the training for Members of the Executive Committee. Subsequently the training will be conducted for plenipotentiaries for Reach implementation selected from each of the firms federated in the Association.
The Executive Committee agreed to organize the General Assembly of Teppfa in Krakow, in April 2008 and decided to allocate an indispensable sum from this year's budget to make prepayments for arrangement of the meeting. Moreover the Executive Committee paid attention to the necessity of making efforts at thorough assessment of costs of the meeting and setting the amount of payment for participation.
Members of the Executive Committee accepted the intention of organizing a conference entitled "Sewer and water networks made of plastics. New solutions from polypropylene and polyethylene" jointly with the firm Borealis. The Executive Committee decided to appoint the Initiating Committee for comprehensive organization of the conference.
The Office Manager of the Association informed of the earlier proposal of the Marketing Group put forward at the Executive Committee meeting of 27 February 2007 regarding employment of Technical Consultant, independent and not identified with any of the firms federated in the Association. One candidature was put forward by the company ARC Andrzej Roszkowski. The Executive Committee decided that the candidate fulfilled all the required conditions and authorised the President and the Vice President to conclude an agreement for provision of technical consultancy services for the Association for the trial period from 1 June 2007 to 31 December 2007. A detailed range of work of Technical Consultant shall be presented in the first days of June.
The next Executive Committee meeting was fixed on 19 September 2007 at 10.30 a.m. at the seat of the Association in Torun. The meeting concluded at this point.
